This is an Ad for alcohol. It features a woman in a wedding dress holding the bottle of alcohol and winking. She is sitting in a car next to a pig in a suit. There is also writing in a different language as the caption.
The Ad is trying to appeal to the desire men have for getting a girl that is better than them. Specifically this is a desire to have an ego or self esteem boost.
The intended audience would be men.
Claims would be that alcohol tends to make women do things they normally would not, and that the only way men can get a girl that is better than them is if the girl is drunk or at least under the influence of it.
The creator of this ad assumes that you will realize the pig and the girl just got married, and that the pig is a reference to the saying that men can be pigs. Also, you are expected to notice that the girl is under the influence of alcohol and that is why she just married the pig.
Evidence of this is the way they are dressed and the just married writing on the car window suggests that they just got married. The way the girl is holding the bottle and winking supports the fact that she is the one under the influence. The creator made it quite obvious that the man is supposed to be a pig because his head is a pig head. Also, the women in the window has her nose pressed up against the glass, making her nose look like a pig nose. This is maybe suggesting that she is related to the man.

Blog #1: Elements of argument

SUMMARY/POSITIONS: My argument is about the difference between purchasing a point and shoot camera, and a digital SLR camera. The two positions on this argument are:
-Point and shoot cameras are less expensive and do the same job
-You can get more out of your money by purchasing a SLR camera
CLAIMS:
-Recently, Olympus has come out with a camera that is claimed to be a point and shoot digital camera, with SLR technology. Their purpose of doing this is to combine both types of cameras in one, attempting to make operating the camera easier, and more cost efficient.
-Digital SLR cameras such as the Rebel T2i have more features than the Pen.
ASSUMPTIONS:
-Consumers may make assumptions that the Pen would be inexpensive compared to standard SLR. Although, the Olympus Pen line ranges from $600-900, which is around the same price as a Digital SLR brand, such as Cannon.
-People apposing buying SLRs may assume that it is too technical, hard to operate, and expensive.
EVIDENCE:
-For the same cost as an Olympus Pen alone, with no accessories,  you can purchase a new Cannon Rebel T2i, and two new lenses for around $800. (Sometimes far less if they’re refurbished/used).
-With these three pieces I can do more than I would be able to with the Pen alone.  For example, the camera itself has more functions and modes.
-There are more products fit for SLR cameras than a new camera such as an Olympus Pen. SLRs have various lenses than allow you to be more creative in your photography, and some of them are universal. However, they would not fit the Pen because it is too new to the market and doesn’t have the same body as an SLR.
-There are more manuals and information to obtain about SLRs than new cameras such as the Pen. Therefore, it is easier to learn how to use them.
-If you were to major in photography, most schools would prefer you have an original SLR camera.
APPEALS:
-If you are going to spend money on a new camera, it is logical to purchase an SLR, for it will save you time and money in the long run.
WEAKNESSES:
-SLR cameras are more for serious photographers (or aspiring)
-The Pen camera is simply to give point and shoot camera users a taste of what SLR cameras are like, and take them one step farther in their usage of camera technology.
CONCLUDING THOUGHTS: Through my personal experience, I would recommend purchasing a digital SLR camera. Although, only do so if you are willing to spend the money on it, and the time to completely learn all the functions and how far you can really push the technology.
